Du̹màho Las̺û (/du̹ˈməho/ /ˈlas̺ʊ/ [national] [violin]) is a subtropical Town located in Zbëkvresië Parish, Gæchà Dîrîdî Empire, within the Warrenese Shogunate.

The name Du̹màho Las̺û is derived from the Wareneese language, as Du̹màho Las̺û was founded by Trêtëm Zeg̈kê, who was culturaly Wareneese.

Climate

Du̹màho Las̺û has a yearly average temperature of 13°C (55°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing -1°C (31°F). Du̹màho Las̺û receives an average of 273 cm/y (107 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Du̹màho Las̺û covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 3384 m (11102 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Du̹màho Las̺û was founded durring the early 13th century in spring of the year 1234, by Trêtëm Zeg̈kê. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Du̹màho Las̺û was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Du̹màho Las̺û is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Du̹màho Las̺û is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of premissive baked earthen streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Du̹màho Las̺û's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. The monster and outlaw focused fortifications has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

A look around Du̹màho Las̺û makes you wonder how anything ever gets done. The locals have clear, obvious rivalries with one another, as seen through clenched teeth and fake smiles. What’s more, there is a serious lack of any organization and planning in Du̹màho Las̺û’s layout as well as the local’s behaviors. The town seems to be a den of chaos where tongues are forked and local customs do not exist.

Civic Infrastructure

Du̹màho Las̺û has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

The locals are convinced that there is some terrible threat against them working from within their society. It may be a matter of dark sorcerers, foreign spies, traitorous neighbors, shape shifting monsters, or some other hidden evil. This evil may be a recent fear, or it may be an inherited peril they’ve always had to guard against. The danger itself may or may not exist, or if it exists it may not justify the steps being taken.

Du̹màho Las̺û's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

Du̹màho Las̺û's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves reenactments to channel Mysticism energies of tier 3 via mimery.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century a local hero by the name of slew a dragon and brought its hoard to Du̹màho Las̺û, where it was shared with all. A small order of knights was founded in 's honor, and bears his name to this day.
